The last time I was on temporary lay-off just before Christmas, I was told I could not get unemployment benefits cause I have not worked for 9 months. At that time I've only been with the company for 4 months. Now I am back on temporary lay-off again and this time I'm being told I cannot receive unemployement benefits cause I have not worked 18 months. I've been with the company for 10 months now. I suppose the next time I end up on temporary lay-off they will state I cannot receive unemployment cause I haven't worked 24 months!!

Have you called the local office. That doesn't sound right to me.

If it would be longer, I probably would. But I knew for a long time we were eventually going to go on lay-off. So I saved a great deal of cash in a savings account just in case. I downloaded a unique product from www.Poodwaddle.com called Countdown Timer[/i] A 760 kb file that took only 2 minutes to download. I have 13 days, 10:51 to go till I head back to work.

Nothing wrong with planning ahead.
But what if they change their minds and make it longer?

Nothing wrong with planning ahead. But what if they change their minds and make it longer? Ya got me there. Will keep my fingers crossed that I go back when I was told to do so - July 13th.
