Rode my bike last sunday (3/27/11) for 3.34 miles or just over an hour. It was rather cool outside, but the sunshine was awesome.

Got an Allen or hex key wrench set today. Manage to get some of the stuff cleaned and lubed on my Mongoose. Still need to get some White Lightning to lube the chain and two new tires for the Huffy bike.
Rode the Mongoose for above 1 hour and 21 minutes, or 4.32 miles. Kinda wet in the woods and it was a cool kinda breezy day too.

Rode my bike as soon as I got home since it was such a gorgeous day today. Racked up 2.55 miles or rode it for 47 minutes and 42 seconds. After 8 hours of work today, I didn't feel much like riding any more than that. That Mongoose now has 747.1 miles total on it. Between the skinny tired road bike and the Mongoose, the total combine mileage is 1,297.7 miles.

The Mongoose is OUT OF SERVICE until further notice. I rode it last weekend and the rear wheel gave out at 831.6 total miles. Walked it back home to see what's the matter now! Freewheel side of the axle bearing didn't wear out, it collapsed!!. The metal retaining ring just gave way letting the ball bearings fall out inside the hub assembly. So extremely disappointed by the overall quality of this bike. I have NEVER had a wheel bearing literally fall apart before!
Got another wheel bearing, but have a new problem - how to remove the freewheel. It requires a special tool that the local bike shop does not have on hand. So I found a place online that does and is manufacture specific, made for Falcon freewheels. MAYBE, just maybe next weekend I can get back to riding my Mongoose again. But since I have to order the Falcon freewheel tool, may just as well replace the Falcon freewheel with a far better quality Shimano 7-speed freewheel for $19.99. The Falcon freewheel continues to slip while pedaling, making a very loud clanking sound when it does grab again.
I'm currently riding the Huffy I bought at a garage sale for a whopping $2. Though I put in another $40 in parts. That bike is approaching 300 total miles since ownership. It isn't nowhere near as enjoyable as the full suspension Mongoose is on the back trails do to it's ridged frame. But it does ride good on the road. Need a truing stand to get the Huffy wheels to ride better. They wobble (side to side) and are out of round.
