The main routes were clear with only patches of ice & snow early this morning. This afternoon they were mostly dry except for a few area where there was still snow/slush on the surface.

IF TRAVELLING INTERSTATE 196 SOUTH OF HOLLAND OR U.S. 31 ALONG THE LAKESHORE BE PREPARED TO ENCOUNTER HIGHLY CHANGEABLE CONDITIONS IN SNOW SQUALLS. LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS MAY PRODUCE NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES. VISIBILITY MAY DROP TO NEAR ZERO WITH FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. PERIODS OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW ARE EXPECTED BETWEEN LATE TONIGHT AND MONDAY AFTERNOON. STORM TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS WILL REACH THE 6 TO 12 INCH RANGE ACROSS PORTIONS OF ALLEGAN AND VAN BUREN COUNTIES. SOME AREAS MAY SEE SNOWFALL IN EXCESS OF TWO FEET BY MONDAY EVENING. GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL LIKELY RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.

CR-388 or what everyone refers to as Phoenix Road was a combination of snow/ice, slush and wet pavement. The road crew have been out plowing and treating the roads.

M-40 from Holland to Allegan is free/clear. M-89 from Fenville to M-40 and on through Allegan to Plainwell is free of snow/ice too. And 222 from Allegan to Martin/US-131 is all dry pavement.
