I've been told by many people that the Haul Master folding 4x8 utility trailer is a waste of money. They claim to have allot of problems with the bolts coming loose and that the trailer will not handle freeway speeds.
Well, That's the kind of trailer I now have. Like the idea of it folding up to be stashed in the garage. Also it is far lighter than the 5x8 utility trailer I had (sold it). This new trailer weighs in at around 250 lbs empty. That's 650 lbs less than the 5x8 trailer I had.
Yesterday I hauled some bricks for my sister. I drove at around 70 to 75 mph with ease with my pickup. It handled the trailer very well without bogging down on the hills, like it use to with the 5x8 trailer. I felt the hubs on the folding trailer and they were barely warm to the touch. Even the tires were only modestly warm. So far I racked up almost 300 miles of service with that trailer and haven't had any problems with the bolts coming loose. I don't see why that would be a problem as all of the nuts are nylon locking style and I used thread lock compound on the bolt threads.
