Well, not exactly any fire, but a smoldering mess. Ever since I had my car, the blower motor make a loud ruckus running on high. Never gave it much thought to remove the blower to see why. It's been smelling like something is burning every time I turn on the blower. Well, Monday was the ultimatum. A large plume of smoke blew out of the vents filling up the car interior quickly. Shut off the blower and then the smoke came out of the vent just below the windshield. Banged around on the blower motor and turn it back on, no more smoke, but it smells like it. Later on I finally pulled the car into the garage and went to work removing the blower motor. The squirrel cage blower wheel was nearly half plugged with an old mouse bedding. Then took a look at the heater core and it too is nearly half plugged with the mouse bedding. Also notice the resistor coils (that give the motor three slower speeds) were packed with the combustible material. Clean out the air plenum, resistor coils and blower wheel. Put everything back together, turn it on and WOW!! Massive amounts of air blow through the vents now. ;D Doesn't take long at all to heat up the interior of the car now. I was using the A/C Max setting as it recycles the interior air. Now it heats up very quickly using the max setting. I knew there was something caught on the blower wheel, just never took the time to take it all apart and clean it out. (re-edit it do to Massive being a so called censored word, being modified to MButtive)
