Had an interesting discussion about how I waste money having someone else work on my PC when there is many web sites were one can have free help to fix it themselves. Well, I'm not too keen of working on my PC, nor am I comfortable doing so. That's why I leave it to someone that has the experience.
Yet when the conversation turns to automobiles, then the tide turns. I'm very comfortable/knowledgeable working on my car & truck. If it needs brakes - I do it myself. Engine oil & filter I also do myself. If it needs shocks, struts, ball joints, U-joints, tie rods, starters, alternators, water pumps, etc, etc - I do that all myself. There I save on labor cost and only repair/replace what really needs to be replaced/repaired. However, some aren't too keen on auto repairs, nor are comfortable climbing under the vehicle - so they take their autos in to a repair shop.
Moral to the story; yeah, I spend the dough to have my PC worked on by an experienced PC repair tech. But save on labor cost when it comes to my vehicles. While others that worked on their on PC's take their vehicle into a repair garage.
