I been thinking of getting cable tv for a while now as digital via the anttena sometimes gives poor signal and I only get 4 stations via it but I been told cable tv is crap in my area as they only offer the basic cable services and you need to be in the main towns or cities to get the full cable digital service. my town is lucky to have about 500 or so houses. As you know Peoria where I work is the nerest main place to me. A 15min or so drive south from me. I did look at getting a dish but the monthly fee for the full package is to costly and although I do like to watch sport I dont watch enough of it to be paying for sport.

I would think that one of the introductory offers from Dish Network would be cheaper than cable tv. I have Direct TV but Dish has their Classic Bronze 100+ that should include Chicago's Fox Sports channel plus one or two more. The basic Bronze package includes the ESPN channels. With a two year agreement the first year is $30.00/month and the second year is $45.00/month for an average cost of $37.50/month. That should beat your local cable company. Just use your current antenna for local over the air broadcasts. Check it out here: www.dishnetwork.com/packages/programming/Default.aspx#ClassicBroze100plusPersonally I would consider the Classic Silver 200 for an average cost of $45.50/month. www.dishnetwork.com/packages/detail.aspx?pack=AT200

That's what we have, classic bronze 100 with Dish Network. We also have the VIP-722 DVR double receiver unit too to watch either in the livingroom and my bedroom tv. We have the ability to pause live shows and record on the DVR.
