HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening.
HAZARDOUS WEATHER
* Wind gusts over 60 mph expected
* Wind gusts over 70 mph possible
IMPACTS
* Scattered power outages expected
* Tents may be blown over
* Widespread power outages possible
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
* A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Air Quality Alert for Sunday July 5thThe Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy has declared Sunday, July 5th to be an Action Day for elevated levels of ozone. Pollutants are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range. The Action Day is in effect for the following Michigan countiesMuskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Allegan, and Van Buren Counties. People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead to ozone formation. These activities include; refueling vehicles or topping off when refueling; using gasoline powered lawn equipment, and using charcoal lighter fluid. Positive activities include; car pooling, biking to work, delaying or combining errands, and using water based paints. It is recommended that active children and adults, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, limit prolonged outdoor exertion. Hot temperatures with very little rain expected over the next week will produce a prolonged elevated wildfire danger across the area. Please try to avoid sparks, fire, or fireworks near dry vegetation through next week. Especially for the holiday weekend.
