Got the oil for the car. Five quart jug for $9.99 and $2.00 off the Fram filter. Also bought two bottles of Gummout fuel injector cleaner as well - buy one and get the second free. Already dumped in a bottle into the car's tank. Have the other one for the truck.

I used 5W-30 Auto Zone oil and a Fram tough guard filter. Got the oil for $9.99 and the filter was $2.00 off. Had to add some more coolant to the recovery tank as well. Between the bottles is the remanufactured alternator. Attachments:

I don't use Fram filters.
Have a coolant leak?
Nice shiny alternator in the background.

Yeah, I heard about the Fram filters made cheaply. But this month I've been penny pinching whenever I can. Had to bail out a family member on their auto loan payment, which put me in the RED ZONE for this month. Spending more than receiving.
Yes, the radiator has a tiny fracture in one or more of the crossover tubes. A slight whiff of steam billows up from the hood on these really cold mornings, from the driver's side. Some staining also on the driver side of the radiator. But no puddling or dripping of coolant on the ground/snow is ever shown.
Yep, that is a remanufactured alternator with a "limited" lifetime warranty. Not a REBUILT[/i] alternator, which is usually rebuilt using bushings instead of ball bearings.

Just changed the oil today. Used Castrol GTX 5w30 and Fram Oil Filter PH3600. Good to go for another 3,000 miles. Speaking of miles, I just passed 173,000 miles.
