We have burned trash in a barrel in the back yard for as long as I can remember. Might smell bad but it keep the landfills less filled. Why should I pay anyone for trash service when I can dispose of it myself for nothing?

And what are you putting into the air?
Years ago the paper companies dumped their waste into the rivers saying why should we pay to dispose of this waste when we can just dump it into the rivers free.

Been burning trash for many years. Don't have trash pick-up in my area anyways. Not gonna waste gas, time, and effort to haul it to the dump.

The only thing I burn (with required burn permit in hand) is leaves, paper products and wood. If I don't burn said items, i don't have the permit that allows me to burn in the first place. So they pile up out back where the earth worms can devour their feast. In a year or two I'll have black gold.

Don't need a permit in my township to burn trash. Anything that burns or melts is. It could be styrofoam, milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, peanut butter jars, cardboard, papers, and a myriad of other items.

Products of wood and yard waste I have nothing against - especially since many townships down here require burn permits. All other forms of burning should be illegal.

I think all trash burning should be illegal, including burning leaves.
